Focus on What God Gave Us
korean harris
What You’ll Need:
Paper, markers or pens, and a few intentional minutes together.
How to Do It:
As a family, talk about a time when comparison showed up—wanting what someone else had, feeling behind, or wishing things looked different.
Each person shares one thing God has given them to focus on instead (a gift, responsibility, blessing, or opportunity).
Write it down and complete this sentence together:
“God has trusted me with…”
Place your written reminder somewhere visible (on the fridge, a mirror, or inside a Bible).
Remember This:
When comparison tries to distract you this year—pause and say together:
“God gave us what we need for our own journey.”
Family Prayer:
“Lord, help us focus on what You have placed in our hands. Teach our family to release comparison and trust that Your plan for us is good. Amen.”
Why This Matters:
This activity helps families practice gratitude and focus in real time—teaching both children and adults to recognize their own God-given gifts instead of measuring themselves against others.
