God Sightings Board
korean harris
Purpose:
To help kids (and parents!) recognize and celebrate the small ways God shows up in daily life—building faith and awareness of His presence.
What You’ll Need:
A poster board, corkboard, or wall space
Sticky notes or index cards
Markers or crayons
A Bible
Instructions:
Set the Scene:
Start by explaining to your family that God is always moving—even in the small things! Share a personal story of how you saw God show up in an ordinary moment (like someone offering kindness, a peaceful moment, or a surprise blessing).
Start the Board:
Label the board “God Sightings.” Let everyone decorate it with doodles, stickers, or Bible verses like James 1:17 (“Every good and perfect gift is from above…”).
Look for God Moments:
Each day or week, challenge everyone to write down a “God sighting.” It can be something simple like:
“I felt peace during my test.”
“Mom found her lost keys!”
“My friend included me at recess.”
“We had a fun family dinner.”
Post It Up:
Stick each note on the board. Watch it fill up over time as a visual reminder of God’s goodness in your family’s life.
Scripture Connection:
Read Psalm 105:5 — “Remember the wondrous works He has done.” Talk about how writing these moments helps us remember and give thanks.
Why This Matters:
This activity trains hearts (big and small) to focus on what God is doing—rather than what feels like He isn’t. It turns ordinary days into testimonies of His love and faithfulness.
