A Call to Refocus

A Call to Refocus

Scripture:
“Let each one examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in himself alone and not in his neighbor.”Galatians 6:4

Comparison doesn’t usually start with dissatisfaction.
It starts with distraction.

You’re focused on what God has placed in front of you—until your attention shifts. You notice what someone else is doing, where they are, or how their journey looks. Without realizing it, your focus moves away from your own assignment.

That’s what comparison does.
It pulls your attention off what God is asking you to carry.

Galatians 6:4 reminds us to examine our own work. Not because others don’t matter—but because comparison blurs clarity. When our focus drifts outward, we lose sight of what God is shaping within us.

God’s direction for your life requires attention.
It requires you to stay engaged with what He is doing right here.

Comparison isn’t just about wanting what someone else has.
It’s about losing focus on what God has already entrusted to you.

Today is an invitation to bring your attention back.
Back to obedience.
Back to trust.
Back to the work God placed in your hands.

Reflection:
Where has comparison distracted you from what God is asking you to focus on today?

Prayer:
God, help me keep my attention on what You have given me to do. Teach me to release comparison and stay faithful to the work You’ve placed in my care. Amen.
